This summer heat has been enough to melt a person to the cement permanently (and by person, I mean me). It is necessary to find ANYTHING to try to beat the heat! Here are some of the things I have been doing this summer to have fun and keep cool!

Bowling! There is no better way to beat the heat than a heated game of bowling! It is no secret that my family and I are incredibly competitive and take all sports seriously! I LOVE bowling...mainly because it is the one sport I am better than Trevor at! Be sure to check your local Bowlero for different specials and times and if you are on a bit of a time crunch, be sure to call ahead to reserve a lane! Also, every Wednesday arcade games are 1/2 price, which is always a plus if you have little ones who tire of bowling and love those shiny lights.

Raging Waters-in this heat, I will go down ANY slide as long as I can stay cool! Be sure to get to the park early to snag a shady spot an bring lots of snacks, sunscreen and water. If you are during the weekend, plan for longer lines--don't worry, they are worth it! Also, it is best to grab a waterproof bag for your phone and keys so you can keep them with you while you are going through the park.

Movies! There are soooo many great movies that have come out this summer and the theaters offer up to 30% off ticket prices for matinee showings....which is perfect for me since I want nothing more than a cool, dark place in the middle of the day. Some movies worth checking out: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Barbie, Oppenheimer, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, Fast X, Mission Impossible, and The Little Mermaid.

Ice Skating - This is the BEST way to beat the heat! It's so cold, you need your jacket lol! Center Ice in Ontario has open Ice Skating each week, and it is soooo much fun no matter your skill level. The best part, you are cool as a cucumber while you are at the rink. It's the perfect escape from the heat.

Roller Skating! This is such a blast for the whole family and definitely a roll down memory lane for me as I spent every waking minute in my skates as a kid. Skate Express in Chino is the place to go....but if you are anything like my family, you may end up just as hot rolling around the rink because we are having WAY too much fun...and once again turning everything into a competitive sport!

I hope this list helped you out and that you are able to keep cool through this heat! Have I missed anything? Let me know in the comments!

Hey Inland Empire, I’m Candice Newman! I’ve had the incredible fortune of being born and raised in this amazing community, and I couldn’t imagine living anywhere else. I currently live in Alta Loma with my husband, Jonathan, our son, Trevor, and our dog, Ruger! I’m a real estate agent with a passion for finding new places to explore in the Foothill Communities. When I'm not selling homes, you can find me cheering my son on at his baseball games, exercising, spending time in our local mountains, heading to the lake, cooking, or watching the Dodgers slay the Giants (I was born and raised an Angels fan, but the Dodgers have taken over the household!). I'll never have enough Mexican food and Italian food in my life. I’m looking forward to connecting with you soon! See you around town! Candice.Newman.Realty@gmail.com | (909)367-3280 DRE: 01924842
