Saying Goodbye to Summer

The hardest words I’ll say all year: “Bye, summer.” Every year, it sneaks up on me. One day we’re soaking up the sunshine, sipping something cold, and living just a little more carefree, and the next—it’s time to trade flip-flops for cozy sweaters. As bittersweet as it is to say farewell, I believe summer deserves a proper send-off. So, I’ve created a little “so-long summer” itinerary that captures the magic of the season one last time:

🌄 Catch a vibrant sunset at Mt. BaldyThere’s nothing quite like watching the sky turn shades of orange, pink, and purple over the mountains. It’s the perfect way to reflect on the season and soak up those last golden rays.

🍦 Savor a cold treat at Brewster’sBecause no summer goodbye is complete without ice cream. Whether you’re a classic vanilla lover or adventurous with your flavors, a scoop (or two) is a must.

🥕 Pick up summer’s final harvest at The Claremont Farmer’s MarketStock up on juicy tomatoes, fresh corn, and all the late-summer favorites before they disappear. It’s a reminder that every season has its flavors—and this one is worth savoring.

As I wrap up my summer, I can’t help but wonder, What’s your favorite way to say farewell to the season? Drop me a message—I’d love to hear your end-of-summer traditions.

Until next year, summer.

Hey Inland Empire, I’m Candice Newman! I’ve had the incredible fortune of being born and raised in this amazing community, and I couldn’t imagine living anywhere else. I currently live in Alta Loma with my husband, Jonathan, our son, Trevor, and our dog, Ruger! I’m a real estate agent with a passion for finding new places to explore in the Foothill Communities. When I'm not selling homes, you can find me cheering my son on at his baseball games, exercising, spending time in our local mountains, heading to the lake, cooking, or watching the Dodgers slay the Giants (I was born and raised an Angels fan, but the Dodgers have taken over the household!). I'll never have enough Mexican food and Italian food in my life. I’m looking forward to connecting with you soon! See you around town!
