5 Ski Resorts in the Inland Empire

With all of the snow that recently fell and the roads FINALLY cleared, every snow fanatic is ready to hit the mountains for a little snow play. Whether you are looking to go snow tubing, snowboarding, skiing or just enjoy the serene beauty, I have put together a list of the 5 ski resorts located here in Southern California for you to enjoy all of this fresh powder!

1. Mt. Baldy Ski Resort-The smallest of the resorts, but still a great one to go to. Mt Baldy Ski Resort is located in Mt. Baldy, Ca. This great resort is a quick ride up Euclid or Mountain Ave. Although fairly small, this resort has plenty to offer for intermediate and advanced snowboarders and skiers. The runs are more challenging and provide some great views of the Inland Empire. Lift Tickets cost as little at $50! You have the option to rent your gear at the mountain as well if you don't already have your own gear. The resort also offers snow tubing and snow play for those that don't want to ski/board.

2. Mountain High Ski Resort- Part of Dodge Ridge and China Peak. The three companies are getting ready to launch a sale and release a remainder of the season pass on March 11th will get you into all three California resorts for the price of one! Mountain High has everything that you are looking for in one great spot. Just off the 15 freeway, getting to Mountain High is a fast an easy drive. This resort offers snow play/tubing, lessons, rentals, boarding, skiing, season passes. A one day lift ticket will range between $99-$130. Prices depend on full day versus 1/2 day, day passes versus night passes and weekday rates compared to weekend/holiday rates.

3. Snow Valley Ski Resort - On your way up to Big Bear Lake, you will come across Snow Valley, this quaint resort offers a lot bang for the buck. There are 12 chair lifts, 28 trials, lessons, rentals, snow tubing, day and night skiing, you name it, they have it packed into their resort and they are about 30 minutes closer to the Inland Valley than the Big Bear Resorts. Full Day lift tickets range in price from $82-$115 and night passes range from $39-$55.

4. Bear Mountain - Located in Big Bear Lake, Ca, this mountain resort is owned along with Snow Summit. When you purchase one ticket you actually get access to both resorts. Bear Mountain is more tailored to snowboarders as it has more ramps, rails and jumps for boarders. It is also a spot for more advanced skiers as there are some more challenging runs and you won't find many novices on this side of the mountain.

5. Snow Summit is more well known for being a skiing mountain, it is also where all lessons take place. The Bear Mountain/Snow Summit Ski Resorts range in price of anywhere from $100-$160 per adult person per day. However, you have the ability to get discounted tickets when buying multiple days, or purchasing for groups. These mountain resorts also offer night skiing/boarding as well.

If you are thinking about heading up the mountain to enjoy the snow, be sure to check the conditions first. A lot of the resorts received so much snow that they can't open lifts yet.
